Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.
1 Peter 3:9
Some people complain bitterly about how they’ve been cheated, victimized or marginalized by others. They give these excuses as reasons for their failure in life.
But that’s not your lot if you’re born again. You’re the seed of Abraham: “And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise” (Galatians 3:29). The blessing of Abraham is at work in you, and that blessing guarantees your prosperity, no matter where you find yourself in life, and gives you the advantage.
DID YOU KNOW THAT GOD PLANNED FOR YOU TO ALWAYS HAVE ABUNDANCE
It was that blessing at work in Isaac that gave him the advantage, causing him to prosper exceedingly, wax great and make progress until he became the envy of the Philistines (Genesis 26:13-14). That blessing was what made him dig wells and find water where others had tried and failed. The blessing worked so much for him that in a time of drought, where others experienced no harvest, Isaac sowed in the same land and reaped a hundred fold harvest (Genesis 26:12). That’s prosperity
Now, if the blessing could work so much for the folks in the Old Testament, and give them the advantage, then it certainly works much more for us today. This is the reason as a child of God you can never be disadvantaged; for you’re the blessed of the Lord! The blessing of Abraham is at work in you twenty-four hours a day.
TALKING ABOUT PROSPERITY: ARE YOU STILL WONDERING IF YOU SHOULD SPEAK IN TONGUES?
This blessing was what gave Abraham the advantage when he parted ways with his nephew, Lot. Both men had flocks that were so large that the land they occupied couldn’t accommodate them together any longer. This caused strife between their herdsmen. Abraham wasn’t happy with this, so he called Lot and asked him to choose a part of the land where he could tend his own flocks separately to prevent their herdsmen from confronting each other. The Bible says, Lot chose the best part of the land, leaving the other part for his uncle, Abraham (Genesis 13:10-11).
Abraham didn’t care what part of the land he got for he knew he was a blessed man. By virtue of the covenant God made with him, he knew the whole world was his. We can also be like-minded for the world is ours through the blessing of Abraham.
